The Kalò Taxidi group offers a musical journey through some of the most iconic soundtracks of Greek and Balkan cinema, paying tribute to two of the genre’s main performers, rebetiko. Rebetiko is a genre of urban folk music that originated in Greece in the 1930s and has inspired various art forms, including the films “Zorba the Greek” and those of Emir Kusturica.
